The Role of Cultural Intelligence and Social Capital in Students Identity Identities of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of cultural intelligence and social capital in student identity identities of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. To this end, 238 students of this university were selected by simple random sampling method and research tools were implemented on them. The research instruments were Bonyon & Adams identity identity questionnaire, Cultural Intelligence Questionnaire. Ang and Van Din and Social Capital Questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The findings of the study showed that there are significant positive correlations between the three components of cultural intelligence, namely, strategic, knowledge and behavior with deferred identity (p <0.05), and the strategic component of cultural intelligence with advanced identity has a negative significant correlation (p <0.05); also, three strategic components, Motivational and behavioral relationships with turbulent identity and podium have a significant positive correlation (p <0.01). In the field of social capital, the cognitive component of social capital with deferred identity and cognitive and relational components with the identity of the podium show a significant positive correlation (p <0.05). The results of regression analysis also showed that the components of cultural intelligence, especially strategic and behavioral, have a significant role in predicting identity bases, especially the turbulent and deferred identity database. In addition, the findings showed that the two components of social capital, cognitive and relational capital, have a significant role in predicting predefined and deferred identity.
