Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between social capital and quality of life among families living in District 2 of Tehran. Survey method has been used to understand the relationship between social capital and quality of life. Our study population in this study is all families in District 2 of Tehran, whose number reaches 205883 people, which according to Cochran's formula is a sample size of 385 people. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire which was distributed among the respondents after estimating the validity and reliability. Measured indicators for measuring quality of life are health and nutrition status, quality of education, leisure time, material quality, environmental quality, mental well-being. To measure social capital, indicators of social trust, social participation and communication (relationships and connections between individuals) have been used. Findings indicate that there is a significant and direct relationship between all variables of social capital and quality of life. This means that changes in the amount of social capital will cause fluctuations in the dependent variable (quality of life).
